REVIEWS                              <out and about>

[ HOMELESS: COMPOST 100 TOUR, WESTPORT BAR AND  ON AIR EAST, DUNDEE: 21ST JULY, 2001 ]

A genuinely fantastic night of intelligently different music - take every opportunity you get to see any of these artists; you really won't be disappointed.

[ DAZY'S BIRTHDAY FETE @ FREETHINKING, LA, CA. USA: 2ND FEB, 2001 ]

The people at reelhouse.net have been holding court at Boardner's with their weekly event Freethinking for a little over six months now. The venue started as a bi-monthly event, and has grown in popularity in a very short amount of time.

[ BOTCHIT BREAKS @ MANNING BAR, SYDNEY: 1ST SEPT, 2001 ]

The first glimpse I got of the Botchit Breaks tour sent tingles down my spine- this was a label which had pushed breakbeat for almost a decade and not in a super commercial sense.  So it takes a real breaks fiend or quality music lover to scratch below the surface a little to unearth what is arguably the breakbeat label that constantly sets trends, and when those trends are followed, they set new ones.

[ NUBREED @ CLUB HABANA, CANBERRA:  07TH SEPT, 2001 ]

Most people would have walked into Habana knowing only one tune from NuBreed's ('Welcome'). However, the majority of clubbers left at the night's end with a taste for more after having seen one of the most professional and talented live acts in Australia.
